Friday belongs to the water signs. Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces: this reading is yours, and the subject is career and purpose.

Today is the last day of the Two of Swords decan of Libra. The stretch opened on the equinox and closes tonight. Its ruler is the Moon in Libra, and the Golden Dawn title is Peace Restored. The decan post treated those ten days as a truce that already carried an end date: a figure with covered eyes, two blades held level, the weighing finished before any cut. The expiry is tonight. Tomorrow, Saturday 3 October, the Libra II decan opens and the Three of Swords takes the sky until 12 October. That is the cut the truce was holding back. A career cut you steer hurts less than the one you drift into. This is the night to choose the road so the cut has your name on it.

Water work often follows the current. The team’s needs, the manager’s mood, the client who is struggling, the post you kept because leaving would hurt someone. You read a room better than most. Purpose, for you, can get written by whoever needs you most this month. The card this week asks you to aim that current before the blades move.

The Card: The Chariot

The card drawn for the water signs is The Chariot, Major Arcana VII. In the Golden Dawn system it belongs to the Hebrew letter Cheth, to Cancer, and to the element of Water. So this week you get a card from your own element, and Cancer gets its own card. Our page carries the line “Victory through mastery of self.” Back in August the career reading gave you the Queen of Wands and asked you to stay warm and get visible. The Chariot picks that up and adds a direction: visible, and moving. Pick the direction before you pick the audience.

Maybe yours shows an armoured figure standing in a stone chariot under a canopy of stars, a walled city and a river behind, two sphinxes (one black, one white) at rest in front, no reins, a wand in hand, crescent moons on the shoulders. Maybe it is our default Golden Dawn image: an armoured figure in a chariot pulled by two sphinxes, one black and one white, a starry canopy above, a city and a river in the background, a wand in hand. What every version shares is a standing figure in a chariot, two creatures of opposite colour in front, no reins, and a river already behind.

The river is behind the driver. The feeling has been crossed. He moved with the feeling already in the vehicle. There are no reins. The two sphinxes, the creatures pulling the chariot, stand for the two pulls: stay or go, loyalty or growth, the safe post or the real work. They are not strapped down. They are held by what the driver has decided. Keep both sides content by never choosing and the chariot sits still with both creatures lying down. Decide, and they stand up together. The starry canopy is guidance. You move under it rather than waiting for the stars to spell a destination. The square on the chest is the material world steadied by will. The card is built for sustained effort, projects under pressure, long roads. Reversed, it is aggression, loss of direction, or being pulled apart by the two forces. Make the move tonight, under your own command, so tomorrow’s cut is a road you chose.

Cancer, this is your card. You have been steering everyone else’s chariot. Name the one role you took because someone needed you, and the direction you would pick if nobody did. Scorpio, you have already decided and you are calling it still thinking. The sphinxes stood up weeks ago. Send the thing. Pisces, the current is not a plan. Name one destination for this quarter, even a small one, and let the tide do its work on the way there.

One Practical Thing for the Week

Before Sunday, write the destination in one line: where the work is going by Christmas. Name the two sphinxes in a word each. Then do one thing that moves the chariot an inch in the chosen direction. Send the email, book the conversation, update the profile, or say no to one drifting commitment. One inch is enough. The Chariot is sustained, not sudden.

There’s more on the card in our Chariot card meaning. Tomorrow, Saturday 3 October, the Libra II decan and the Three of Swords open and run until 12 October. Monday 5 October is the earth signs’ reading, on love and connection. Water signs: the river is behind you, so steer.
